With JTB’s focus on cultural exchange, the company has a long history spanning almost 100 years of managing educational group tours. JTB operates school excursions both to and from Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and Fiji), providing quality service and experiences to schools, teachers, travelers and their families at home.
JTB is constantly adapting and developing new and exciting educational tours, school exchange programs and excursions. Every year tens of thousands of school students travel with JTB through the various programs on offer or tailor made. For most students, it is their first time to experience the distinctive nature and culture of the region. These programs offer a great cultural exchange opportunity - not only for the visiting students, but also for the hosting schools and families who meet them through school visits and home-stays.
Japan provides a unique educational experience for students. Around 30,000 school students participate in various programs organised by JTB Australia each year. JTB has successfully arranged educational tours for many schools and can devise a tailor-made program for each school’s trip. With more than 400 offices throughout Japan, seamless service and assistance is provided in the case of an emergency arising.
Australia and New Zealand are two of the nearest English-speaking countries to Asia, and Australia has the highest ratio of Japanese language learners. JTB can arrange language study both in classrooms and off-campus to help students explore the region and participate in inter-cultural exchange experiences.
A growing relationship between Japan and countries in the Oceania region means that increasing vocational training opportunities exist in business, local government and non-profit organisations. For example, there are currently over a hundred Australia-Japan sister cities and 42 New Zealand sister cities. JTB can help arrange skills exchanges and vocational training tours in professional fields including the arts, medicine, nursing, agriculture and mining, among others.
